Resources for librarians

Do you have enough information to make a purchase?

Our website is designed to give the most extensive information possible on our titles. Each title we publish has its own distinct webpage. This page has descriptions and contents and in many cases review excerpts, a downloadable PDF of the leaflet and in some cases sample pages. If you need more; contact James Powell.

Keep updated

Hopefully you will be receiving relevant mailings from us regularly. If this is not the case please register for more information (use your work address so that we know you are a librarian).

Editorial Standards

Every title we publish is peer-reviewed. Every collection we publish is laden with new scholarship from academics worldwide. Every monograph is a result of new research. Don’t take our word for it; take a look at a sampling of some of our recent review coverage.

Production Standards

We are very proud of our production values. Every book we publish is printed on acid-free paper and has a stitched binding. We do not use print-on-demand technology because it does not reach the standard we require for our publishing.

Electronic Policy

It is our standard practice to make all our monographs available as eBooks. Our monographs are currently available as eBooks through:

Some of our multi-volume collections are available as part of larger databases published by Intelex.

We always indicate on this website if our editions are available in an alternative electronic format.

Special Offers

If money is tight, we offer a limited number of titles as half-price special offers.

How to buy our titles

Our monographs are available on approval plans offered by Blackwell’s and Yankee Book Peddler.

We also accept direct orders. Orders can be placed through this website.

A library can choose to be invoiced with the books. Each title can to be confirmed with a unique purchase order number. This facility is at the discretion of the publisher.

Orders from libraries in North or South America will be supplied and billed by Ashgate Publishing Company based in Vermont, USA.

If you experience any difficulty in obtaining our titles, please contact James Powell.

Pre-invoicing

We know that sometimes a library needs to spend money fast prior to a year-end. We can arrange pre-invoicing if requested.
